Performance overview

On average, the department receives thirty patients daily and this gives an average of nine hundred patients monthly, approximately 65 % of these are children while the 25% are adults.

The commonest conditions managed are malaria, pneumonia, hypertension,and diabetes mellitus, injuries due to road traffic accidents or domestic violence, malnutrition among others.

IN PATIENTS

Admission to the different wards which include Paediatric, Male, Female, Maternity and Isolation wards
Monitoring patients’ vitals and ensuring all medications are given timely
daily review of patients so that lifesaving interventions are timely
offering health education screening for infectious illnesses

Performance overview
On average fifteen patients are admitted per day in all the different wards, giving a monthly average of 450 patients per month.

The commonest conditions are Severe Malaria, Severe Pneumonia, Acute diarrhea with severe dehydration, Hypertensive urgency among others.

Paediatric ward caters for approximately 70% of the total admissions followed by female with 25% while males have the lowest.

MATERNITY

The in-charge for the department is Miss Giramia Cloavia, a registered midwife. She oversees all activities in the department. Key services here include:

postnatal care
care for HIV exposed infants
nutritional screening
health education
management of common obstetric and gynaecological conditions
referral for emergency obstetric and neonatal care

Performance review
Average monthly delivery is sixty, Antenatal attendance of 120 mothers, Postnatal attendance of 60 mothers and their babies.

The commonest cases for admission are due to malaria and its associated complications in pregnancy. Obstetric emergencies are mainly due to obstructed labour, retained placenta and severe anaemia among others.

ART

The in-charge is Mr Openymungu Richard, an Assistant Nursing Officer. He oversees all activities in the department. Key services within the department include:

Conducts active search and screening of the population for HIV infection.
ensuring all positively confirmed individuals receive Anti Retroviral Treatment
Conducting sensitization both within the facility and in the community so that the population is aware of their HIV status.
Screening those on HIV treatment for opportunistic infections like cancer of the cervix, PTB and other STIs.
conducting home visits for those with poor adherence to medication

Performance overview
There are 450 clients on care within the facility with a suppression rate of 95%. Atleast 70% of females have been screened for cervical cancer.

LABORATORY

This department is headed by Mr. Kumakech Walter, a laboratory Technician. He oversees all activities in the department. Common tests carried out here include:

Averagely, monthly 600-700 patents are tested/ benefit from laboratory services.

AMBULANCE SERVICES

A fully functional ambulance is in place and maintained by a diver. Mr Kertho James heads this department.

On average we have10 community pickups, 20 referrals from the health center and some referrals outside Nebbi District and West Nile region to either Lacor in Gulu or Nsambya and Mulago Hospitals in Kampala, and occasionally across the borders from DRC.

STORES

This department is headed by a store assistant who manages all drugs and health supply for the facility and she is supervised by the health center In-charge.
